gtu.edu

The Graduate Theological Union (GTU) is a remarkably extensive consortium. Comprising about 20 seminaries and academic centers, the GTU offers theological studies in a number of religious traditions, including various denominations of Christianity, Judaism, Islam and Buddhism. Through its many institutions, the Graduate Theological Union offers three degrees: MA, PhD and ThD. All of these degrees are academic in nature, and students can chose from a variety of specializations. If you’re not yet sure which program is right for you, you can take classes under special student options until you decide. Several certificate programs and summer courses are available at GTU, as well. Federal financial aid is available at Graduate Theological Union. Eligibility varies based on the degree program, so be sure to check GTU’s website for a complete chart. However, even if you don’t qualify for federal aid, institutional financial assistance is available for all GTU programs. Admissions requirements at GTU depend on the program you’re applying for. MA applicants need a bachelor’s degree, while PhD/ThD applicants must have a bachelor’s degree as well as a master’s degree in Theology or an MDiv. For more information on admissions, visit GTU’s website.
