Cottey wants women to feel comfortable participating and pushing the limits of understanding, and to develop confidence and skills. At Cottey College, they value the local as well as the global. Students can pursue the appropriate academics to complete a bachelor’s degree in English, Environmental Studies or International Relations and Business. Associate’s degrees in Arts, Science, Fine Arts and Arts-Music are also offered for students who wish to transfer to a four-year college. Admissions require that students applying to the school have maintained a high school GPA of at least 2.6, and received an ACT test score of at least 21 and an SAT composite score of at least 970. Students are evaluated based on their likelihood to succeed at the school, and because enrollment is limited, when the application is received also plays a factor in acceptance. Tuition costs vary based on program. Financial aid is available, and students should submit a FAFSA to determine their eligibility for official awards such as grants and loans, or student employment. Some scholarships are also awarded, and may be based on academics, talent and athletics. College life is rewarding and active. The school offers over 40 clubs and organizations to join, as well as off-campus trips, dances and a variety of traditions to take part in. Since on-campus living is in suites connecting groups of 10-14 women, a close-knit and friendly lifestyle is one of the campus’ main attributes.
