Located in Spearfish, South Dakota, Black Hills State grants bachelor’s, master’s and associate’s degrees in more than 90 fields of study. Majors available at the bachelor’s level include Applied Technical Science, Art, Elementary Education, Human Services, Music, Psychology, Speech Communications and Theatre. Black Hills also has less commonly offered majors such as American Indian Studies, Business Education, Corporate Communications and Outdoor Education. Approximately 20 pre-professional programs in medical and other fields are also available. An application, transcripts and SAT or ACT scores are required for admissions consideration. Tuition is significantly lower for South Dakota residents and students may also apply for financial aid.
