The TAC is working towards zero deaths and serious injuries on our roads. A Victorian Government-owned organisation, our role is to pay for treatment and benefits for people injured in transport accidents and to promote road safety. The TAC is a no-fault scheme where medical benefits are paid to an injured person - regardless of who caused the accident. This is funded by vehicle registration payments Victorian motorists make each year to VicRoads. Payments and conditions are guided by the Transport Accident Act 1986.
