Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. (MBUSI) is the production location for the GLE-, GLS- and the GLE Coupe Sport Utility Vehicles. In 2018, the plant produced more than 235,000 vehicles and our plant has built more than 3 million vehicles in its nearly 20+ years of production in the State of Alabama. In September 2017, Mercedes-Benz Cars announced plans to expand its production footprint in Alabama and the United States with a $1 billion investment for our second campus. The expansion includes construction of a new battery plant to prepare the plant to build electric vehicles at the beginning of the next decade. MBUSI currently employs more than 3,700 Team Members.
