Operated by the Calgary Zoological Society, a not-for-profit society founded in 1929, the Calgary Zoo is one of just five zoos in Canada accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Our mission is to become Canada’s leader in wildlife conservation. To that aim, we operate a Centre for Conservation Research.
