For over 120 years, the University of the Cumberlands (UC) has stayed centered to its founding principal: “To provide first-class education at affordable rates”. The university was started by a group of Baptist Ministers and its broad liberal arts program is augmented with Christian values. All Cumberland students live on campus except for those that live in the local neighborhood with a parent, guardian, or spouse. There are five residence halls for men and five for women, offering plenty of options for all students. The University of the Cumberlands offers over 40 undergraduate and graduate programs, both on campus and online, as well as pre-professional courses on campus. Graduate programs include Education, Business, Medicine, Psychology, and Ministry. Graduate students will earn their degree with a focus on servant leadership. UC has expanded its enrollment to students throughout the country and internationally, however it continues to serve many students from the Appalachia area, so Kentucky residents as well as out of state residents all pay the same tuition. The standard financial aid options are available to eligible UC students, such as scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study programs. The school is a proud participant of the Yellow Ribbon GI education enhancement program.
