Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences is the perfect school for individuals looking for not only a cutting edge education, but also character development and lessons in integrity. Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences has several unique academic programs that set it apart from other health science schools, as it focuses on essential and expanding fields of medicine. With academic programs in Cardiac Electrophysiology, Cardiovascular Invasive Specialty, Clinical Laboratory Science, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Emergency Medical Technician, Nursing and more, students will be able to choose the best program for their future. As students spend time in clinical rotations and around radiological equipment, college life is a little different than most campuses. Students who become pregnant must immediately report their pregnancy in order to implement the policies that will protect the health of the mother and child. The campus is completely non-smoking and drug-free, and students cannot be impaired in any way during class or while working. The admissions process is competitive for prospective students, as they will have their class rank and academic performance in college-level courses evaluated in addition to program-specific requirements. Many of the programs require that students have already obtained an associate's or bachelor's degree before being admitted to their program of choice. Students are asked to submit a non-refundable processing fee of $60 with their application, transcripts, essay, recommendations and test scores. In addition to tuition, students are required to pay for and pass a criminal history check, a drug screening test, child abuse history clearance report, CPR certification, and a physical examination including immunizations and laboratory tests. Financial aid is available for students who can demonstrate need, though students are required to apply for financial aid each year, not just when applying for admissions. Students who apply for financial aid will receive a packet outlining grants, scholarships and loans available to students.
