The School of Professional Horticulture is a division of the Botanical Gardens in New York City, and offers individual courses in Horticulture and related fields. Research areas include Genomics and Structural Botany. Anyone may enroll for an adult education class. However, admissions to the school’s degree programs are competitive. Applicants must provide documentation of at least 1,800 hours of horticultural work and submit an application, transcripts, three letters of recommendation, and evidence of a physical exam. All applicants must also interview with an admissions representative. The school offers federal financial aid, including Pell grants and loans. To apply for these applicants must submit a FAFSA and proof of income. The school also participates in veteran’s benefits.
