While the majority of MSM’s programs are performance-oriented, degrees are also offered in Music History and Music Education. For those students who are pursuing performance or composition degrees, there are both Jazz and Classical music tracks. Regardless of which you choose, you will work with some of the most esteemed faculty in the world of professional music. Home to Jazz Ensembles, including a Big Band, a Symphony, a Wind Ensemble and a Chamber Orchestra, MSM provides numerous opportunities for performance at its renowned auditorium or in one of its recital halls. It’s no surprise that students come from states throughout the nation and nations throughout the world to attend MSM. It is this mixture of cultures and nations that makes for MSM’s excitingly diverse student life experience. The city, home to such places as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and a wealth of Broadway and Off-Broadway theatrical venues, is both inspiring and rich in opportunities.
