About Chicago Theological Seminary

ctschicago.edu

Chicago Theological Seminary is a coeducational graduate school focused on preparing individuals for their future roles in their church and community. Academics at this school prepare students for obtaining a degree in Divinity, Theology, Religious Studies or Leaderships, Ministry or Philosophy. Their Theological Field Education program allows students to branch out of their classroom and work in the community in order to apply the knowledge they have gained into real-world experience. Admissions for the master’s degree programs require that prospective students have a bachelor’s degree, four letters of recommendation with two being from academic sources, a personal statement, all official transcripts, and a personal interview. College life at this school is different than many other seminaries. Chicago Theological Seminary is renowned for its relationship with the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community, and has many students and faculty who openly identify as a member of the GLBT community. This school tries to diminish the cost of tuition through contributions from donors. As such, financial aid is available through scholarships, fellowships, grants and loans to those who qualify.
