At CCH, students work with professional filmmakers, have industry leaders and guest speakers in the classroom, and get access to internships and the job market upon graduation. Academics at Columbia College Hollywood include a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts and an Associate’s of Fine Arts. The BFA program is offered in Cinema or Cinema & Television Production; the AFA in Cinema & Television Production. Both programs require 48 credits in general education classes in natural science, behavioral science, and the humanities. Each degree emphasizes skills in directing, screenwriting, cinematography, producing (production and development as well as the entertainment business), and editing visual effects and sound design. Admissions at CCH include high school and/or prior education transcripts, as well as an essay of at least 500 words describing the student’s career goals and artistic pursuits and two letters of recommendation. Housing is available at Meridian Pointe dorms on the campus of California State University Northridge, five miles from the CCH campus. Apartment options are also available with shuttle service and/or within walking distance from the CCH campus. Financial aid is available for eligible students.
